Janney Fall Picnic
Friday's rain is supposed to make way for great weather this week. Perfect for the Janney Fall Picnic, now set for Friday, September 30th from 6-8pm. We will have a moon bounce, a slide and more for the kids. This is also a great time to meet other Janney families! Hot dogs (all beef and veggie), chips and drinks will be for sale! Bring a dish to share (desserts for last names beginning with A-L; salads and sides for last names beginning with M-Z). We would love helping hands; the more the merrier. Want to volunteer to grill, sell, set up, or clean up? Contact Val Alten or Melissa Fossberg. Looking forward to another great picnic!

Run -- OR WALK! -- to Sign Up to Participate in the Janney 5K & Fun Run! Here's some important news about the upcoming Janney 5k and Fun Run: You DON'T have to be Jesse Owens -- or even Ms. Rockwell or Mr. Kovacs -- to participate in the 5k! You just have to be interested in spending some fun, healthy time outdoors while supporting Janney Elementary School. We welcome all participants, from walkers strolling with other parents they never have enough time to chat with, to parents with jogging strollers, to those trying to tire out the family dog with a long walk. Hard-core runners are very welcome, of course, but this is an event for *all* members of the Janney community and beyond. We would love your support recruiting neighbors, friends, colleagues, and the family dog.

Janney 5K Volunteers Needed
We need lots and LOTS of volunteers to support the Janney 5K and the Kids Fun Run on October 15th. This is major event for Janney, and we'll need lots of help to make it happen! If you can give an hour of your day to help out, please go to www.janney5k.com, click the button to volunteer, and then pick a time slot on Sign-Up Genius. (It's a public sign-up, and you do not need a password.) And you can even help if you're running... there are plenty of volunteer times for after the race too! When you sign up, please include your email address as a note, so that we can get in touch with you.
