Education
Dr. Crews holds a PhD in Education (Educational Leadership) and a Masters of Education (Guidance and Counseling) from Bowie State University and a BA from Howard University. She is certified as a Maryland Advanced Professional (Administration and Supervision) and a School Counselor.

Work History
Dr. Crews comes to Janney from Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg, MD where she has served as Assistant Principal since 2003. Proir positions include Student Support Specialist at Watkins Mill High School (2002-2003), School Performance Specialist at the Office of School Performance at Colonel Zadok Magruder High School (2001-2002), School Counselor (1995-2001) and Long-term substitute teacher in Reading and Math (1993-1995) at Sligo Middle School.

Leadership

  • Completed Principal internship to provide valuable experience for preparation toward becoming a Principal.
  • Planned and designed a master schedule based on student needs and to give all students a challenging educational program.
  • Supervised, observed and evaluated academic and supporting services departments
  • Facilitated and supervised 9th grade school improvement plan using the Balridge process to support a collaborative approach for the instructional leadership in the school.
  • Served as summer school principal for two years to increase opportunities for students to receive academic credits towards graduation.
  • Planned and Coordinated school staff meetings to inform and implement county-wide initiatives
  • Supervised and coordinated school transportation and safety and security to ensure the safety of staff and students.

Program/Curriculum Development

  • Chaired monthly PTSA meetings to serve as a resource for parents and regularly discuss school operations.

  • Attended several Board of Education Meetings to align school efforts with the strategic plan and 
  • Facilitated a Hispanic women’s support group to assist Spanish speaking parents with school wide resources.
